Meal Plan Monday (on a Sunday) and Some OOTDs

Ok, confession time.  I am making this meal plan now with the intention of shopping tomorrow, but I also have to admit to myself that since B has a bunch of dinners for work this week, meals for us will more than likely end up being things like cereal, toast and yogurt, and scrambled eggs.  Because sometimes it just isn't worth the effort to cook for an audience of 3 year olds.

True story....when B used to be gone for work and it was just me, I would eat things like Red Vines and root beer for dinner. He makes me be such a grown up.  Ugh......

Anyways, the plan for this week is:

 - Grilled Hoisin Chicken and Pineapple, Sautéed Sugar Snap Peas
 - Homemade Fettuccine Pasta with Low-Fat Alfredo Sauce, Pancetta, and Peas, Salad
 - Grilled Peach Pork Chops, Zucchini, Whole Wheat Couscous
And here are some recent outfits, it definitely seems I have been hung up on stripes lately.  Oy.

I wore this for errands and the kids pre-school graduation celebration.  Fun story...I also wore a less-than-there pair of underwear (to avoid VPL), and while at the school, L decided to jack my dress up to my waist in front of all the pre-schoolers, their parents, and the teachers.  They got an eyeful of ass cheek, and I didn't even get a date...

Next up is this little (big) number....look familiar (↖)?  I wore this for dinner and drinks with a girlfriend.  I love it because it is sooooo comfy.

I sported this for a baby shower, another striped dress. I think I might have a sickness.

And check out these fashion icons....

  1. I love cooking (or eating maybe?) so much that I still usually make something when Bob's gone. When I lived alone, sometimes I wouldn't eat until at least 9 because I was making such elaborate meals for myself. I kind of wish I could just do cereal, because it's delicious and so much easier!

Have you posted the hoisin chicken & pineapple recipe before? It sounds yummy! But I'm pretty much obsessed with pineapple now.

I'm loving all your stripes! That Target maxi dress is so cute! Is that from this year? Love your baby shower outfit too, the red heels are a nice touch.

    1. Oh, and I don't have a recipe for the chicken, it is exactly what it sounds like though....chicken breasts and fresh sliced pineapple brushed with hoisin and grilled. Simple!

  2. That is funny, Anne. I never really cook just for myself. I love cooking for other people, but if it is just me my lazy side wins out. Maybe because B isn't here tondo the dishes? ;)

And yes! I just got the striped maxi, it is in stores now, you should check it out!

    1. Well, when I lived alone I didn't have cable or internet, so I didn't have much else to do other than cook I guess :) But seriously, I wish I could let go a little on that. I spend way too much time in the kitchen on weeknights!

I was just checking out Target's clothes section the other day, wonder how I missed that? I guess I'll have to go back :)

  3. What's wrong with cereal? Michael is not here, and I think I might go and get myself some cereal now ;-) (8.00 pm over here right now)
ALL your striped dresses are super-cute, but the third one is super-super-cute! Nice to see you are obviously having warm temperatures over there. We've had rain, floods, wind, and cold temperatures for way too long now :-( No dresses for me yet...

    1. It was briefly nice, but the weather is cold and sucky here now. I read about all the flooding in Germany in the news, sounds like you guys are getting quite a bit of that as well? Hope all is ok with your home!

B tells me you are coming back to work soon?

    2. The western and central part of Austria has been all flooded, we are OK, not too bad over here, just lots of rain and miserable weather. It is June but feels like November. Ready for the summer to begin, I'd take spring too.
Yep, am back in a couple of weeks. Very ready to be back, but sure will miss my little one. Michael will be on paternity leave for two months though, over the summer, so I'll be feeling better about being away again after this one year.
