Just a quick post with this week's meal plan. The most exciting thing is of course, St Patrick's Day and the traditional corned beef dinner, yum! And that will be the end of our celebration.
- Wheat Berry and Squash Pilaf, Salad
- Slow Cooker Chicken and Fig Stew, Polenta
- Green Chile Corn Cakes, Turkey Sausage, Eggs
- Garlic Kielbasa and Spaghetti Squash
- Corned Beef Dinner
- Tomato Soup, Grilled Cheese
- "Daddy Pasta" (B's specialty...a box of pasta, a jar of sauce. Walla)
And not to leave this pictureless....a blast from the past. I miss you, South Side Irish Parade. And I miss you too, sweet Irish hat.
We never did the corned beef thing when I was growing up, so this non-beer part of the St. Patty's day celebration is still a little new to me. And I don't think we're even doing it this year because Bob's mom will be out of town! So Bob may just have to smoke a St. Patrick's Day brisket instead.
ReplyDeleteI just made my first corned beef last year, it was sooooo good I decided it would be a tradition. Although a smoked brisket sounds pretty amazing too. I could get behind that kind of tradition.
